Pre-sale wrist bands for playing carnival games $5.00 each and meal tickets $5.00 each.  **Reminder, meal tickets and wrist bands will be $6.00 at the door the night of the BBQ.

The Periwinkle Family fun night and BBQ has games, prizes, a bounce house, face painting, a junk food walk and of course our Silent Auction!  

Dinner this year will be a Taco bar prepared by the South Albany High School Culinary Arts Class.

Dinner is served from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Pre-Sale Tickets start May 14th and end May 18th. Get yours early! And avoid the lines!

Tickets may also be bought at the door!

Work will start soon on bond-funded projects around the district. Come to a community meeting in May to learn about the plans.

Attention parents of incoming kindergartners: Orientation and enrollment for the 2018-19 school year is scheduled for May 1 at all elementary schools.

Students will attend the school in their attendance boundary area. See the attendance boundary maps and school finder tool for more information.

Last month, the district’s new Anti-Bullying Task Force presented recommendations to the School Board.

The task force, which is comprised of GAPS staff, parents, and community partners, has had two community forums. At the first forum, a definition of bullying was presented, along with various statistics and facts related to bullying and its effects on students. The group also began to look at the scope of bullying in our community, both at the school level and in the community at large.

At the second forum, the Task Force formulated concrete suggestions for the school Board to consider to address the problem.

The forums yielded recommendations for improvements to school climate that included curriculum and behavioral supports to improve school climate; new rules and policies to prevent bullying and education about policies and consequences; staff training in bullying prevention; and programs to improve coordinated prevention efforts.
